I assembled a print show featuring work by myself and some friends at the Gallery at the Wauregan. The show looked great, it was well-attended (including a visit by my pal & all-purpose writer Kate Laity, who drove from NY!) and it received some nice reviews from visitors. It certainly didn’t hurt that Vulturetown Presshad some freebies of their wonderful t-shirts to give away….people love free…
I had the honor of being asked to design a cover for friend & poet Dan Curley, whose forthcoming book will be published sometime in the near future from Wolfson Press at Indiana University South Bend. The image created was influenced by mid-century graphic design.
Image below is the first shot at this cover, informed by deconstructing a lyre:
This year, I produced two different holiday card designs: one influenced by a photo taken of a sculpture at the Museum of Sex in NYC (where there are two wonderful exhibits – Leonor Fini’s works, and the language of sexuality in the punk rock scene), the other card is a pop art fantasy.
“From fantastical adventures to YA science fiction, from historical tales to piracy in intergalactic space, Scourge of the Seas gives readers a broad range of new pirate legends.” (From back cover.)
